Do not trust this site. Check it — every source below is clickable.
How to check us in three minutes
- Click the source. Every reference under every chapter is clickable. Where there is a direct link, it takes you to the document itself. Where there is not, the button searches for the work on Google Scholar.
- Look the work up in an independent catalogue. Try WorldCat (the global library catalogue), Google Scholar, or Google Books. A book or paper that genuinely exists will almost always appear in one of them.
- If it cannot be found at all — report it. A reference that exists in no major catalogue very likely does not exist.
What should make you suspicious
- Very specific page numbers for a book you cannot find
- A quotation that reads too neatly, fitting the argument too well
- An important fact resting on a single source (our rule is at least two independent ones)
- Two "sources" that both trace back to the same original report
What happens after you report
We check it. If you are right, the text is fixed and the correction is logged on the Corrections page with the date and what changed. We do not quietly delete mistakes.
